When you are putting together a sales page or flyer for a new product, there are many things that you need to consider. The sales page is the single most important selling piece for your product. You worked hard to market the product, and you are finally getting people to look at your sales piece.
If you are marketing online, then you should have a sales page that you are directing your traffic to. If you are marketing offline, then you should have a flyer that describes your product. I market both online and offline, so I occasionally create a sales page and a flyer. The flyer looks very similar to my sales page, only I make sure that it prints on one page. The flyer directs them to my sales page for more information and to order.
To create a compelling sales piece that grabs your reader’s attention, you need to tap into all five of your reader’s senses. I have listed examples here, and I have placed them in their order of importance. If you are unable to find a way to grab all five of the senses, then you should start with the first one listed and go in that order.
- You need to give them something visual to see like images, fonts, and colors.
- You should provide something that they can hear like an audio or a video.
- Feel can be tapped into by describing an event or a situation that will occur. If they buy your product, they might get rich and be able to live on a beach where they can feel the warm sand between their toes and hear the waves crashing along the beach.
- You should use tasty words to tap into their sense of taste, such as delicious, smooth, juicy.
- Smell can be difficult, but can be done by describing a sensation they might experience by using your product or service.
Trying to capture all five senses in one sales page can be difficult, but if you can manage to do it successfully, then you will be gaining the attention of more people. Everyone has a sense that is more dominant for them. Some people respond better to things that they hear while some people respond better to things that they can look at. If you can please all of their senses, then you are triggering the most reponses possible.
