We have all been hit hard by this recession, and the analysts are indicating that it will not be over for quite a while yet. If you haven’t yet, it’s time to take stock of how your business is reacting to the recession. I have three words of advice for any business in this economy: Market, market and market.
Marketing is crucial in any economy, but especially during a recession. Many businesses tend to cut back on how much they spend on marketing efforts when times are tough. I have learned that you should cut back on other areas, but keep your marketing efforts high!
Now is the time that people are window shopping. They may not be buying, but they are taking it all in. If you get your name out there in front of everyone else, yours will be the one they choose when they do decide they are ready. Keep building that trust with your relationships and keep on creating new relationships.
If many companies are cutting back on marketing (making less noise) and you are increasing your marketing (making more noise), then it makes it that much easier for people to find you over all the other noise.
Statistics show that 90% of the companies in business now will go out of business before they become successful. Let yours be the 10% that will take off once this recession is over. Line your clients and customers up now. Feed them and learn all about them. Be ready for them when the time comes for them to buy.
